First, we'd like to give our immense thanks to you for visiting the F.I.S.H. Foundation website, where we are committed to taking the sport of bass fishing to new heights in Mississippi. Our passion for this beloved pastime is unmatched, and we are excited to share it with you. As the successors of Alfred and Ed Williams, we remain dedicated to the values of family, community, and service to Christ which were instilled in us by them. We invite you to join us on this journey as we work towards making a significant impact in the world of bass fishing. Thank you for your participation in our efforts, and we look forward to achieving great things together!
History of The Williams Brothers
Alfred and Ed Williams, two brothers from Byram, Mississippi, shared a deep passion for bass fishing as they matured. Despite facing challenges, they persevered and excelled in the sport. While Alfred balanced his fishing career with his work at the United States Postal Service, Ed was working as well at the Mississippi Bottled Water Company all the while, building a network of fishermen and making valuable connections in the Jackson, Mississippi metro area. Their dedication and hard work paid off when Alfred became the first Black person to be inducted into the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame in September 2024. Although Ed passed away in October 2023, his reach throughout the fishing community made the pathway easier for himself and his brother Alfred. It is because of their work that the Williams family legacy in bass fishing will continue through this foundation in their names.
